Hi,
I am guessing that this is a TRUSH seeing as you have described a thick, white, and creamy, like cottage cheese, discharge, and it seems you having itching in your vaginal area too.
Vaginal infections are common during pregnancy. Trush is caused by a microscopic fungus called Candida albicans. This organism lives in the intestinal tract of both men and women, and nearly one third of all women have it in their vagina. It only becomes a problem when the numbers outgrow competing microorganisms. During pregnancy, the vagina is rich in glycogen which promotes the growth of Candida - hence, a pregnant woman is 10 times more likely to get thrush than when she is not expecting.
If you think you have thrush infection, let your doctor or midwife know. Your doctor may prescribe you some pessaries that are safe to use at your stage of pregnancy. DON'T TREAT YOURSELF WITH OVER-THE-COUNTER MEDICATIONS UNLESS YOU HAVE SPOKEN TO YOUR GP FIRST.
Some of the following remedies may be helpful...
* Wearing cotton underware
* Avoid hot baths and bubble baths or bath oil as it could irritate the area.
* Eating natural live yoghurt which should restore the proper bacterial balance in your vagina. However, you will have to wait a while for relief from itching.
* Applying witch-hazel compresses or ice packs to inflamed area.
Trush WILL NOT hurt your developing baby. If you have an infection when you go into labour, there is a small chance that your baby will catch it as they pass through the birth canal. Trush in newborns causing white patches in baby's mouth. Trush is not serious and can be treated.
Like any symptoms, you may find that thrush comes and goes during your pregnancy. Although it is inconvenient and uncomfortable, try to remember it won't hurt you or your baby.
Good luck!
Lx

It might be a yeast infection. I'm 15 weeks pregnant and had my 1st yeast infection ever. I didn't have any symptoms yet but my doctor informed me to take Monistat 3. She said it's very common with pregnancies due to the excess moisture. When is your next OB appointment? Get it treated sooner than later.

There are many things that could cause that. I would consult with your doctor since you are pregnant. If you weren't I would suggest the vagisil infection test kit. You may want to try sitz baths until you talk to your doctor for some relief.
