We met freshman year in college. I had never had a girlfriend and she had never had a boyfriend, we were both very shy. She was in one of my classes and I developed a crush on her. What I didn't realize right away is that we both took the same bus from downtown to the school in a small town 20 miles away. I guess I wasn't that awake at 6 AM, and I was working at the school's radio station after classes and took the last bus out, while she always took the earlier one.

When I found that out, I was still too shy to go up to her and start a conversation. She didn't seem to notice me at all. After a few weeks, I decided to beg off of work at the station a couple days a week to take the early bus and see what bus she took home. It turned out we both waited at the same stop (for different buses). I still couldn't work up the nerve to say anything, so I finally 'accidentally' bumped into her from behind while we were both standing up in the aisle waiting for the bus to stop one afternoon. I think that's the first time she actually noticed me, but she still didn't recognize me. She was nice about the 'accident' and that gave me the confidence to pursue starting a conversation about work in our shared class, while walking to the stop to wait for our separate trips home. She, in fact, hadn't even recognized the fact we were in the same class.

After that, we would say hello, and then begin to sit together on the bus. It gave us probably a good hour each day to talk, and then we would meet on campus between classes to talk more.

A month after that first 'meeting', we shared our first kiss. We celebrate 30 years of marriage next year.

I met my htb(husband to be) on-line. I just so happen to have logged onto this dating site (blackscene.com) and I was only looking for causal chat, pen pals, or maybe a new friend. Well, I had never seen him on there before and out of the blue he just sent me an IM. I have to admit that at first I didn't give him a chance, until on evening something about that conversation made me want to give him more of a chance and since then, it's been magic!! We talked the first 7 weeks before we met. We were IM'ing, video chatting, and talking on the phone within those 7 weeks, until finally he came for the weekend to visit me ( he lives in CA and I am in TX). That weekend sealed the deal for the both of us! It was the most romantic weekend of my life and I knew that I was looking at my future husband.

I went into a bar after work on a Friday in the town centre, a bar that I have never been in before. I went there to meet some friends; they were late so I just stood at the bar and I spotted my girltfriend to be sitting alone. Totally unknown to me, I went over and introduced myself and said something along the lines that we were in the same situation; waiting for friends who have poor timekeeping. I have never met any previos partners on nights out in town, neither have I been out with someone I hadn't known from a circle of friends/work etc. So I was quite pleased that the appraoch did work out!

It was 1977, the raging days of disco. I was in a disco club (you know, the kind with the big mirrored ball and the light up dance floor) when he asked me to dance. I didn't like him and wished he would go away. He finally badgered me out of my phone number. I gave it to him and got away. He started calling and calling and calling until I finally went out with him. I fell in love on the first date. We were married a year later. We had three kids and now enjoy two beautiful grandaughters. Its been a trip. (Years later we came across his childhood diary and in it he described his future wife, she looked just like me!)

Myspace actually. Talked for months before we actually met, he drove over 300 miles to meet me... After 300 mile weekend trips every weekend for about 2 months, I ended up finding a job closer to him, transferring, and moving. Don't regret it a bit.
