When you are picking a Best Answer, how do you decide..........??

how to rate them with Stars, 1-5?? I automatically give people a 5 because they were the best answer!! How do you rate them??

I try to see if they are serious about their answer, if they are serious about my question (unless it's a funny one) and if they know what they are talking about. There are some great people on YA and alot of them have great answers, some I may not agree with, but great never the less.
I pick the BA by the honesty of the answer...

that's why you get so many of mine BA because of your honesty and experience :-) and you throw in the love for free

I usually give people 5 stars but with a few questions I didn't get many answers and the ones I got weren't so good and I still wanted to choose best answer anyway so I didn't give them 5 stars. I think maybe 3 or 4.

Wow good question its so hard times because I think that the majority of yahoo people that answer my questions are simply amazing I have learned so much from they are intelligent insightful they have made me see things in a different light of what my original question asked for...

I always find that there are usually 2 or 3 people that I have to figure out who I will give the chosen answer to I take the time to always read everyones answers & the ones that give me a lot of inforamtion I am alway greatful for their feed back and even the simple answers are a blessing too :)) I think what determine me choosing the chosen answer has to do with me looking at the answers in a different light and seeing something that I never saw before I have learned something and that is for me the deciding factor. I will also say all y contact and people that answer my questions all the time you know who you are I THINK YOU ARE ALL CHOSEN ANSWERS IN MY BOOK IF I COULD I WOULD YOU ALL THE POINTS OF ALL YAHOO HEHEHE and then some :))) thanks & I always rate 5 Always maybe once or twice in all my questions I gave a 3 the majority are 5 :)))

I almost always give the Best Answer 5 stars. I figure if I picked it as BA it deserves 5 stars, especially if it is one of my fans. I don't think I have ever given anything except 5 stars. I am also a 'thumb's up and 'interesting question' giver.

I always give the best answer a thumbs up and 5 points. I almost always give answers a thumbs up. I figure even if I don't agree with the answer they still took the time to answer it. Unless they are a jerk then I will give no thumbs up and on a rare occasion I will give a thumbs down. I have only reported someone 2 x's and that was because the person posted a porno picture or site to click on.

Picking a best answer is a BIG agony for me...it's so hard to decide! We are not asking mathematical or scientific questions that have very precise answers. I try to give best answers to all of my contacts, I think that by now (I hope) each one had at least one BA from me. As far as the stars go, I only give 5 stars each time.

I usually give them 5 stars if I pick them for the best answer. I decide by how good the information is and if they have a cute avatar LOL J/K

Well, I'm big on humor, so if they can get that into the answer I give them a point for that, if they use humor and have a quite witty answer too, I give 2 points. If they are one of my contacts and the reach the above criteria they get 3 points. If they are a fan, I give them 5 points, I like to keep my fans!

Usually 5 four if not as good as it could be 3 if the best of a bad or not to good bunch. No best answer if no decent ones at all. Like this one would get 3 if not none! lol,

I usually give a 5 if they answer my question 100%...if they "mostly" answered it and I know what they're talking about, then I'll give it a 4...if they don't answer it really but are like the only one with s decent answer, I'll give a 3...and I'll give a 2 if they didn't answer it at all but was the only one to answer lol =)
