Some people might argue that they are similar in that religion was used as an excuse to try to grab territory in the Middle East. In current day parlance, the religion would be democracy, being used as an excuse to try to grab oil.

In all of these examples, the same pattern applies:
Faux-Christians, acting out of a mixture of greed and religious hatred, invaded other countries to loot them and kill Muslims. Their "religious" trappings and/or pretense of self-defense was--and is--nothhing but a hypocritical rhetoric designed to excuse the bloodshed and injustice of their "cause."

I think the crusades began when retards kept blowing themselves up in attempts to kill civilians. So I can definitely see the connection you are drawing. I hadn't thought about it until now! Thanks!
