1) If they can run a ball-control offense, it might keep their defense rested and give them a chance to stop the Pats once or twice.

2) A 16.5 spread is pretty big, and all it takes is a couple of turnovers by the Pats to give the 'Skins a chance to keep it within that range.

3) The Pats need to have a down game at least once this season, so why not today?

Even with all that, I'm still not sure I'd take the Redskins against the spread. The Pats are scary-good!

I can only think of one.
