I'm really tempting the dragon, since the 2007 championship isn't yet in hand, but heck, live dangerously.
Yankees fen: the 2004 Red Sox took away your "1918" chant.
You sensibly moved on to "it'll be another 86 years" as your new Red Sox fan taunt. Well, that one's about to be scraped into the ashcan in a day or two.
So, what will be the new taunt or insult for Sox fen? I realize you still have "26" to thrust forth, but that really is soooo 20th century, and there should be something more forward-looking to best attempt intimidation and aggravating harassment.
What's it going to be? You're going to need it next April, so let's get cracking.

Nothing about how New Yankee Stadium is sparkly and springtime fresh, whereas Fenway Park is a 90+ year old dump?

"Only 19 more to catch, us, losers"
"After this year, it'll be another 86 seasons for you guys"
"Yankees still rule"
There will also be many direct insults, poor grammar, and likely some curse words. But I can guarantee that there will still be much mention made of the difference in the number of titles that have been won. Never mind that most of those fans have no idea what the names Huggins, McCarthy, Griffith, Cronin or Collins mean - the Sox will stuck suck compared to the Yankees.
Soxtober - I'm not sure why this is so difficult to understand, but I didn't make that comment as a Yankees fan - I was just answering Chip's question and guessing what they'll say. I'm a Jays fan, and I don't care if the Sox win the Series. Again, I was just answering his question - hopefully you can wrap your young head around that.

That's pretty boastful, life...I wonder if Derek Jeter has been saying that very same thing to every 9th clubgoer he's been hanging out with the last few weeks?
Twenty-six is pretty 20th century...as long as the taunts don't include, "We know Howie Shapiro, and we know Howie knows large men, so, Josh Beckett, better start lookin' over yer shoulder, punk", things should be okay for the near taunting future for Yankee fans.

I like this one, I have just made up, especially for the average Yankee fan.
"Oh yeah....... [pauses for about 30 seconds to think of next thought], Well, at least our tickets are really expensive and the cost of living here is really high and.....[similar pause], we care enough to have a $125 million dollar starting lineup and........ ahh, red sox sucks" [laughs amongst themselves before they fall down due to a mild wind... and they are in doors]

"After this year, it'll be another 86 seasons for you guys"
you can't say that anymore
you said that after '04
and if we win this year, that doesn't even make sense anymore
it's bad and stupid
if you're going to make fun of us, at least make it good!!!
