Money is not the root of evil. It is the love of it or the desire to possess more of it than we need. Greed is evil. Money is a necessity.

If it were, Gates and Buffet would be well on their way to hell.
If it were, all those in the church collecting it on a Sunday morning are surely going to hell.
If it were.... well you get my drift.

Money is MERELY a means of a society keeping track of those who are worthy of continuing in the stream of commerce. You want to have fun on sunny day. You don;t need no stinking money. Want to go for a ride with your girly friend in a new Maybach Mercedes-well, you gotta be worthy of that-worthy to the tune of say 145 LARGE.

Neither situation in itself is evil-only if you let your mind move to evil deeds by the use of money. Even then, it is not the money that is evil as evil is a human trait. You could just a s easily ascribe personal or political power to money-if used wrong, or to pursue evil goals, then it too could be considered the "root" of evil. But in the end, it all comes back to the human mind.

It's the end use of anything which can make or mar it's credibility, usefulness or what ever it's net worth.By itself, money is nothing, like what it's worth if you are marooned on a desolate and lonely island all by yourself, with tons and tons of it?Nothing.Money gets it's power though bargain, exchange or buying/selling.If it's used for well being of living beings,it sustains and nourishes life.Same goes for it's power if used for evil purposes.I think the strongest root of all Evil is the human mind and rest are just the tools.Hope you shall agree with me,after reconsideration.

No...The Bible says that money can be for a protection like wisdom but it's not evil. As others have said, the LOVE of money is the root of evil, injurious things because it compels you to do all you can for it (good or bad) and you can end up worshiping money instead of God. (Ecc 7:12, 1 Tim 6:10)

Depends on how you define evil. Certainly one persons evil is anothers fun. Love of money is not an evil, especially if the person that loves money donates large sums to a Church. Now is it? Money is "evil" when it does bad things. Like the Islamic extremist buying guns to kill Sudanese nationals.

There is a simple analogy. Which kill people? Guns or the person using the gun.

Hi Mojo, I believe it is. Car jackers will kill you for a few dollars without looking back. We need money to live we can't live without it but say, " It is the root to all EVIL" In my opinion.

No! But the greediness both for earning or miserliness is the root of all evil.
