Both statements are true, and I would suggest this holds good for any human being.
Our size, our health, our longevity (whilst also being affected by our genetic inheritance) are affected by what kind of home we grew up in, what quality of air we have breathed, what food we have eaten, and whether or not we have grown up in a rural or urban environment. In these we are (in part) the product of our environment.
On the other hand, our means of transport, our use of industrially produced materials and food, directly and/or indirectly have a bearing on the quality of our environment, be it air quality, water quality, ozone layer depletion, or carbon dioxide build-up and increasing temperatures.
We therefore have a circle in which we affect the environment and the environment affects us. The choices society makes with regard to these matters dictates whether that circle is a vicious one or a virtuous one.

I think that they both coexist in our life. We make some of our environment yet some of it comes to use by chance. Yet this chance can be created by what we choose to do or go. We also all react to our environment and therefore we are also a product of our environment.

eh that's a good one a little like the chicken or egg !
Well may be the inherited environment is a product of our ancestors ( which we all have had ) and were a product of that on the flip side the environment of to-morrow is our product for future generations to inherit what ever that may be!

I must say my environment is a product of me since I am the one who made it like it is.

Our environment is a product of us. Without the species of man the environment would be in better condition. Mankind does very little to be a positive in our eco-system and it could survive without us. We cannot survive without a healthy environment.

Depends on whether or not you can control aspects of your environment. In your house and personal space, your environment is a product of you; however, you are product of the bigger environment (i.e. geography you grew up in).

It doesn't have to be just one answer, it can be both.
Some people allow their environment to mold them.
Some people fight their environment or move to a different one.
So in the case of the second person, the environment may still be responsible for forging them but at the same time, they chose the environment.

Initially, the former as opposed to the latter. In t he early stages of life, you have very little ability to impact on your environment. Later, you can, but by that time many of your behaviour and thought patterns are already established.
