Yep, it is. It's the warmth of the brew and also the salt that helps.

I suppose it'll be soothing, but if you really want to heal a sore throat you should take a glass of any of your favorite wine( but it MUST be made of grapes) , gargle a little and drink the rest! This is NOT a joke.....wine made from grapes contains something that kills flu-, colds- bronchitis and sore throats!!
I do it and it always work!!!!!!!!!!I usually don't have it for breakfast (:-)), but certainly with my other two meals. I also do not give it to children under the age of 18.
Another wonderful remedy is to sip a teaspoonful of this mixture: equal parts of honey, apple cider vinegar and Worcestershire sauce.....it is wonderful for sore throats, coughing and laryngitis!!

if its hot sure add a little salt in it . best home remedy is lemon and honey.or hot toddy.or try gargleing with wam salty water.
