I watch because they are the only shows that have any kind of interest to me...I know full well that DNA evidence is not delivered hourly, for in reality, it can take weeks. But who cares...the shows are often interesting, but lately, they are developing the characters much more finely...and that adds a whole new dimension to many...SVU, CSI are both delving into the characters better now. And let's face it....considering the TV fare that is avaialble on all 600 of my channels, when the only things I basically watch are reruns, there is something wrong with programming. I will add that the new ones to watch are: "The Closer," "Saving Grace," "Pushing Daisies," and "Samantha Who." I have grown tired of "Dancing with the Stars," for it is a popularity contest, not a dance contest (I am a ballroom dancer and can judge as well as the judges.) In all, I watch them because I like them! Goldwing

I love the crime shows, but I prefer the true ones I also love the History and Documentary channels. Prefer the crime ones mostly because I want to work out how it will end, "who done it", I enjoy the suspense. Even better, are the courtroom dramas. Don't care for the shoot outs and ones with lots of violence.

I've always loved crime/detective shows. It's fascinating watching the way they go about solving the crimes, how they use the clues and I like the research they have to do also. One of my favorites right now is Bones.

I watch most of the crime shows. I think I like the challenge of trying to figure it out first. I really hate it when they make a mistake. It's like "come on writers, your educated, intelligent people. How could you write this?"

Much the same reason I suppose. I think it's because I've got the sort of mind that likes to know how things work or what makes people tick. Although I'm not too keen on violence, blood and gore, I do love 'who dun-its' and think I'd have made a good sleuth or detective, and forensic science seems fascinating.

I watch them because they are about the only semi-intelligent shows on the boob tube.
All of those stupid "reality shows", really unfunny and infantile "comedy shows", etc. Just plain waste of airspace.
I like Shark, Numbers, all of the Law and Order shows, the Sopranos, Criminal Minds, CSI Miami, etc.
My favorites are no longer on; NYPD Blue, Hill Street Blues, Third Watch...
TV really sux......don't watch much of it at all. I have a great video/DVD library of over 300 great films. If I really want to watch something, I pull it from my own shelf.

I watch "The First 48 Hours," because my son is a homicide detective, & he says the show is the way it really is when investigating a crime scene, & trying to solve a crime. Very interesting!!!

I like to see how the FBI accidentily finds a hair in a curtin, which leads to solving the crime! Sometimes I wonder why real-life cops can't solve crimes as easily.

I watch for the same reason as you. It's amazing how science has advanced.
I like the 'edge of your seat thrillers' without all the slice and dice. But I've seen no new ones lately unless it deals with ghosts or missing children and I can't take those.
