The Romans had many myths and legends. So did the Greeks, Egyptians and all ancient people.

You'll find the vast majority of myths are from the old world, ie, Europe, Asia and Africa.
Ok, heres an easy one. The story of Beowulf is, i believe, Finnish, or Icelandic. Research into it, its a brilliant piece of mythology.
Also, just try anything from ancient Greece. Orpheus, Apollo, The war on Troy even!

www.google.co.uk "silbury Hill myth" and you'll get loads - eg. a myth about a man-made hill that for thousands of yrs it was believed to contain a full size golden statue of a man and his horse... it is definitely a myth as has now been disproved due to an archaeological dig showing the mound dates back before metals were being worked. among many others.
