Some people have a clue but others dont! But no ! If your rear tires are on the ground and it is a front wheel drive car then you wont add miles! On allot of todays cars the odometer will still count the towing miles pending the way it is towed. Not all vehicles use a speed sensor for the odometer miles. 90% of vehicles with a digital odometer use a speed sensor! The others is through the transmission.

If it is a digital odometer, than no, my 98 cherokee was towed since new, and it only has 128k driving miles abut about another 200k towing... If it is an AWD crv, than you may need a dolly as it is very complicated to pull the driveshaft on one. Im not sure what honda recomends. I know with my jeep im fine if i put the t-case in neuteral. All newer cars run the odo off the speed sensors also.

NO. the odometer cable is usually attached to the transmission. since you are towing and the gear is not engaged it should not show any mileage increase. Even if you have the engine running on idle for hours it would not hurt your mileage. Mileage only counts when you go forward. going in reverse does not count. .. only counts when the transmission moves the tires in forward direction. I don't recommend towing the car backward but please check your owner’s manual for towing instructions. and good luck. ...

Not unless you tow it with the ignition on. Check your owner's manual about towing, some models cannot be towed without taking out he drive shaft, or axles.

no the odometer is run electrical...you will wear out ur tires...
