with a given situation - do you imagine terrible outcomes and get all riled up over something that probably won't even happen? isn't that silly? i do it all the time.

Although I have tried not to for many years, it is something I do quite often. In one aspect though it is always a relief when the worst that I imagine does not happen

Its not silly. I do that to. I think of the worst case scenario so I can prepare for every possiable outcome and not be caught off guard. I thnink that overall I always look for the positive in situations but you have to prepare for the worst

yup i do it all the time. except for me it seems like all i get is terrible outcomes and i have come to expect a bad outcome. after you get screwed over so many times i think you get used to bad situations and learn to make goood with shitty situations.

I always try to prepare myself for the worst, which is probably why I have anxiety attacks but I also try to find the bright side of everything!!

YES!!! I always thought of the worse consequences of my actions first before thinking of the positive ones. My fren quotes this law of 'attraction' that she read from "The Secret" (some kind of motivationa/inspiration book), bout how we think that 'attract' the consequences.. like if you think bad things, then bad things will come to you, and vice versa...if you think you can do it, you can. but i just cant help myself!

I have been sadly disappointed when I expect the best, and in this present world, I am always expecting the worst. My personal creed is "I will believe it when I see it."

You've got your outlook the wrong way round! It should be PREPARE for the worst, but expect the best.

My rule is to always expect the worst, because then I'll never be disappointed.
