His wheels cost 3,000 dollars and he drives down my street real slow (At least he drives slow) and slumps way down in his seat. (How can he see out the windows and his mirrors?). His car does look nice but he has 98,000 miles on it and he thinks he is god's gift to women. Once in a while he floors it and fish tails all over the place. (To show off to his friends) Why does he think this is so cool? Shouldn't he be in school to better himself? Being 55 years old (In the future) will not be cool with a poor paying job and a 10 year old car. Should I talk with him?

Once a college educated young man visited my next door neighbor and the young man drove up in a 78,000 dollar Corvette. The man with the 10 yr old Mustang got mad. (What is with that?) The Mustang owner said "Let's race". The Corvette owner said..."You're not in my class education wise and vehicle wise". Then he departed like the spaceship in starwars.

Good Lord, no, don't talk with him about it. In the first place, he's far more aware than you that his job doesn't pay well, as are the girls he's hoping to impress. What kind of response would you expect? 'Oh, thanks, sir, I didn't know that I have a dead end job, thanks for pointing that out, I'll file my medical school applications tout suite!' Chances are he's just trying to have fun in the moment, and while I agree that he's probably a jerk, you're hardly his target market. I just hope whatever women he impresses also keep in mind that it's a temporary thing, and insist on a condom.

I'm not sure why you think he'd be a better man in a newer car, though. Mindless competitive consumption of consumer goods, like buying the latest car, marks you as possibly just as shallow as that young man, in your own way. Buy a well made car YOU like, that gets good mileage and meets your actual needs (not your fantasy ones - you aren't going to liberate Iraq, so you don't need a Hummer), keep it maintained, and run it into the ground - your planet and your retirement budget will thank you, and you'll impress the right people by not caring about the 'things' that don't define you anyway. Ask Jesus, or the Buddha, about that. Or the Fonz - he knows that people who are worried about being 'cool' aren't.

You've got to be kidding. Don't you remember what it was like to be young and think you were God's gift to the world. What is there to talk to him about? Frankly, I think it's great that he has a car that fits his income bracket rather than living on credit the way so many people do who drive newer cars. One day he may come to value getting an formal education but in the meantime unless you are his mother or father, stay out of his business. He is just being a kid and that is something most people eventually grow out of.

You could say that about every senator or congressman in D.C. no matter what age they are. Once they get elected they all think it is a life time job.I'd really like to see John BOehNER get unemployed. Let's hear it,do you think BOehNER is interested in the average person out here? Does he care if you have a job? Does he care if you are unemployed because your job went to another country? How about David Vitter? Why does he stay even though he was involved in prostitution.

Typical of guys.
Unless you know him, I would stay out of it, actually you should stay out of it anyway.
As for having a poor paying job, at least he has a job. As for the car being 10 years old, I don't think mustangs go out of style. I'm sure that when he is 55 y/o he will have a different job and car. It sounds to me like you are one of those nosey neighbors. Just leave it alone and let the kid have fun while he can.

Do you remember when you were young with a 10 yr old car and a crappy job? Most grow up over time, some a little longer than others.
If you talk to him it will only cause him to get an attitude toward you.

Don't be so judgemental....we are all young at one time, and this is just his youth. Though, I hope he does outgrow this behavior before he starts a family. Some think it's cool, while the majority of us that are settled see it as silly, but we all have done silly things ...especially in our youth.

this person sounds like the 90% majority of young males on this planet. He probably is cool in his head, and he's not doing any harm to anyone, just enjoying his young years. Just let the guy be, he sounds happy!

I have no idea... but he's NOT cool and really needs to grow up.
He should definately be studying or something to give himself a better future.

If you know him and have talked before, maybe you should have a talk. Explain to him that although he is impressing his peers, it's not going to help him in the long run.

He is considering where he came from. so Ta t young man might be far better if you are to look in his days back.
Don't blame him. Current differs from background. He knows his status well.
