incredible feelings of irritability and disgust when exposed to this person? Does the chemistry actually affect how one feels about the other or is it the improper treatment to the other that causes such feelings?

I feel this way whenever I have to see my (estranged) husband. I find myself incredibly irritable when around him to the point where I just can't bear to be near him. No one understands.

If this person has been unfair in their treatment of you than it is a natural response to be disgusted with this person and not like being around them. This kind of feeling does not always have to happen within a marriage. I am not sure about you but I have had people that have treated me wrong and I still get disgusted when I am around them and do my best to avoid them at all cost. You are just normal reacting to what has happened to you as a result of your husband. It makes for a very uncomfortable situation especially if children are involved. In that case it is impossible to avoid interaction. Just keep your head held high and remember you are not the bad person but the saving grace for your children. Put them at the top of your list and stay strong. As they get older they will begin to understand the heartache you have gone through. Good Luck and let me know if I can help you anymore.

Its not the chemistry its the treatment. Poor chemistry can be the source for not being overly fond of someone or they could irritate you but you don't like being around your ex because of what happened in your relationship that you feel he is responsible for. Its a pretty natural reaction to have if it was a painful breakup and you are still angry and hurt.

Uh, you mean literal, physical chemistry?

No.

It's psychology.

And to think there was a time you thought he was the best person in the whole world, and that you could never get enough of him.
