I think Definitely |Harry Potter, the way it takes you right into his fictional world, which keeps you wanting to go back and read more.
Words that are made up, as part of the story, such as "muggles" come alive as though they were real, somewhere.
You almost start to understand his world as if it were real. Great , Very clever.
A good book should totally captivate your imagination, and Harry Potter does that. Adults and children, alike, both enjoy the book.
I also think that the book is much better than the film, far more descriptive, and makes the mind work harder, taking you on a wild journey into the magical world of Harry Potter.
Great book.
Lord of the rings , I do not think it's quite as good as it's not quite so captivating.

I have never watched a complete Harry Potter, I always get bored and change the channel. But I had read all the LOTR books twice before the movies came out, and loved the movies.
There is a feel in LOTR that isn't quite in there in Potter, maybe because Potter is for kids.
It takes more than wizards to capture my imagination. LOTR has it. Potter doesn't.

It's got to be harry potter. When you read the Harry Potter books you realise they are the best books ever. They are the only books you can read again and again.
LOTR are good to, but with Harry Potter there is just something else

I like both.
I've seen the Harry Potter films and played a few HP games but I haven't read the books yet.
I've read alot of Tolkien including LOTR and played games etc.
