Not only is it possible, a woman can "menstrate" for LONG periods of times. A friend of mine had a ovarian cyst (non cancerous) and she had her "cycle" for 72 days! To the point that she became anemic.

Yes, it is possible. Frequently happens once in awhile. If you get periods twice a month regularly, see your doctor. You can become anemic. Your doctor can give you medication to help regulate them so you don't have to have one so often.
