Hearing people who do not employ people just because they are deaf.

My wife is born deaf and I am hearing, thank you very much! After living in hearing culture all of my live, I see the total ignorance and pure idiocy in which hearing culture WALLOWS like a dirty pig and I am often feel ashamed of the hideous noise that hearing so-called "normal" culture propagates in the name of entertainment and culture these days.

If Britney Spears and her ilk are representative of the kind of culture hearing youth should be inspired by, then Beam me up Mr. Scott - there is no intelligent life on this planet.

The most famous example is Alexander Graham Bell (yes--the inentor of the telephone) who advocated prohibiting Deaf people from marrying because they would produce "an inferior species of human."

To get the full story of the campaign against deaf people from the late 19th century through to the present, try these two books:

"Forbidden Signs"--Doug Baynton
"Deaf History Unveailed"--van Cleeve.
