It means you can't return it unless it is faulty. When a shop has a 30 day guarantee period, you can take the item back just because you don't like it, but if it is exempt from the shops 30 day guarantee, it would have to be faulty to get a refund.

It says that the seller does not guarantee that it will work for 30 days. They will not replace it if it breaks. If it is in original packaging, you have a receipt, it didn't say all sales final and the store doesn't have a no refund or return policy I don't see why you cant try to return it. You may not get the cash back and you may only get store credit.

Nothing in the company's terms of business can negate the Sale of Goods Act which states, (papraphrased)

"Under the Sale of Goods Act 1979 traders must sell goods that are as described and of satisfactory quality.

If consumers discover that products do not meet these requirements they can reject them and ask for their money back providing they do so quickly. Alternatively, they can request a repair or replacement or claim compensation."

Well the shop is trying to avoid giving refunds on whatever that items was.

It still has to be 'fit for purpose' - so it it's broken / not-working etc. you can still get a refund .. but if there's nothing wrong with it then they are not obliged to take it back ..
