Ric Flair.

Unlike Hulk Hogan, Flair was not popular just because he represented a character people related to. Ric Flair was also part of the most revolutionary stable in the Four Horsemen, and he was always a top wrestler in the group.

Flair's in-ring work, against any wrestler, is beyond that of Hogan. You don't have to look exclusively at his wrestling matches in another country and see that they purposely change styles, which is someting Hogan did. Flair always wrestled the same, and was very technical with his moves. Unlike Hogan, also, Flair was a great seller in his prime and made moves look harder than they really did. Things like "randomly falling" after being attacked or flipping over the turnbuckle are things you can see in him and later in wrestlers like Shawn Michaels and HHH.

With rivalries, Flair does have more memorable ones IMO, and Flair's rivalries were always more entertaining. Hogan's rivalries did not get interestng until he was a heel in WCW, and even then some of his battles were not great. People in the wrestling community still talk about Flair vs. Sting to this day.

On the mic, Flair still surpasses Hogan. Even though they both had memorable phrases, Flair was a much better and more realistic talker than Hogan ever was. His phrases were also more interesting, such as, "To be the man *wooo*, you have to beat the man".

Flair, the man wrote the textbook for professional wrestling, made the promo an art form instead of some cheap chance to pop off a few catchphrases. He's the archetype heel, although one could argue that Hogan's the proto-face, he really didn't do anything original or different. Hulk Hogan is a Billy Grahm knock-off whereas Flair is the epitome of what fans hate. Flair help lay the ground model for what a faction should be as well. It's debatable if there'd be an nWo without a Four Horsemen. Flair has also taken better care of himself in the ring, whereas Hogan's falling apart these days and can't even do his signature leg drop anymore, and Ric's the older of the two! More people have stolen away from Flair's style than debatably any other wrestler in history, whether it be the Jarrett knock-off strutt, Sting howling out a "woo!" or the ever-comical turnbuckle flip onto the apron, people immulate Flair. Even a basic chop has been branded as Flair "Woo!" worthy, and who doesn't think Nature Boy when they see a figure four. Even Charles Robinson, a common ref, has been branded by Flair's legacy. Flair's done more for the business than Hogan, and continues to put youngsters over to this day. Hogan's last match was against Orton, and he squashed the Legend Killer. Hogan's in it for himself, Flair's doing it for the industry.

Easily Ric Flair, not just because he is the 16 time champ but because with out Flair wrestling would have never gone through an attitude period. The Horsemen forming in the 80's changed wrestling forever. All the trash talk about Flair and the Horsemen being jet flying, wheeling dealing, kid stealing son of a guns were all true. If you ever watch the Video of the Horsemen, where they sit down at tell what it was like to be a Horsemen, you'll be surprised at how wild Flair and the Horsemen were.
Hogan may have changed the WWE but Flair changed wrestling. He was the first heel that fans wanted to win. They wanted the Horsemen to win.

Nature Boy Ric Flair..

Ric Flair is an amazing wrestler a 16 time World Champion and he deserves to retire with the head up.He should come back and leave like a deserved legend! He is the one who inspired past, current and will inspire future superstars.Great amount charisma,a ladies guy and the dirtiest player of the game.He is in my eyes along with Bret Hart the best wrestler that he ever step foot into a wrestling ring(whatever company)..

Hulk Hogan from the other hand make wrestling world famous outside of the wrestling business. He is not that damn special as many people referred to him but he had great charisma,he was selling merchandise and he was a symbol fro sports entertainment. He is definetely a living legend but he is worst than Ric Flair(You can see referrences to Hulk Hogan to your site too cause i posted a big article(!lol!) about the Hogan vs Triple H topic you have there...)

Ric Flair > Hul Hogan

Classic wrestling debate

Ric Flair is obviously better than Hulk Hogan. Flair put WRESTLING on the map. He defended the NWA title all over the world against wrestlers that Hogan never heard of. The Nature Boy also knows wrestling holds, moves & reversals. The man is wrestling!
Hulk represents everything that is wrong with wrestling now. He is evil and should be destroyed!

RIC FLAIR!!!!!!!!! A SIXTEEN TIME WORLD CHAMP, A WORLD WRESTLING RECORD!!!!! Sure Hulk is the most popular wrestler of all time but when it comes down to who's the better wrestler it's RIC FLAIR!!!! Flair is 58 years old and he is still in good enough shape to wrestle! Not to mention that he is still in the hunt for the U.S. title and I think he can actually win it if MVP underestimates him again like the first time they faced off. Hogan is four years younger than Flair and he's retired but Flair is still a Mid-Carder. FLAIR IS AMAZING! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Ric Flair.
He's a better technical wrestler, whereas Hulk was primarily used as an entertainer and wasn't as great of a wrestler.

But personally to me, Flair was a better entertainer too.

Flair started working before Hoagn, and he still works, this shows he has more dedication.

So, in my mind, Flair was a better performer and wrestler.

This is not even close. Flair is a 20-time World Champ (16 recognized), and he led the greatest faction of all time. Hogan had no wrestling ability, just came off well with the fans and had a good gimmick. Flair not only had a great gimmick, but is the greatest heel of all time, had great wrestling ability, and had some of the greatest feuds ever.

Hulk Hogan is Bulky, weird, just not my type, neither is Ric Flair, but I'm Gonna talk up a storm! Ric seems like he wouldn't win a match- but Hulk Hogan might!

I have to say Hulk Hogan. Hogan is younger, stronger, and has much more charisma in the ring than Flair does. Flair was always a great wrestler, but age and all the fights that Flair has had over the years would affect his attacks in a match. Hogan wins, hands down.
