You must be using Internet Explorer 7. IE-7 does not allow any setting in the Restricted Zone below the default setting of "High". You would need to use 'Custom Level' and adjust manually but this is certainly not recommended.

But, the bigger question is why change it at all?

By default there is no sites placed in the Restricted Zone at all. If you are using some 3rd party app (like SpywareBlaster or IE-SPYAD) that places sites in the Restricted Zone and a particular site is giving you a problem working correctly; the solution would be to remove that site from the Restricted Zone. Don't lower the security level for the entire zone.

Good luck.

You have to have administrator rights to change that. Give your account admin rights to change security settings.

However, I would NOT recommend that you change the security level of the Restricted Sites! That is protecting your machine from the worst of the worst on the 'net. If you set that to a lower level and visit one of the sites in your Restricted Sites list your machine could become infected with all sorts of nasties.

This could be several things I need more information to give a More accurate response. It could be you are not the administrator for the computer which means you won't be able to change the settings. It could also be the settings in your virus protection or firewall software is preventing the change. This is basic but need more info to better answer this question.

Why do you want to change that setting. It protects your PC from infected sites.
