We took down old wallpaper and some wall board. (Paper above, board beneath.) How do I remove all the old wallpaper glue and do I have to? Also, under the wall board the dry wall had not been finished, it's just the bare dry wall surface. If I mix mud into the paint and apply it with a roller will that give me coverage of all this mess?

First use soapy water on the glue, get it wet and rub it to remove the old glue. Then use sandpaper to smooth the wall, then apply mud to any bad spots smooth with trowel and sand when dry. Paint with primer, then paint with preferred color.

Yes you want to remove all wall paper glue and wall paper if you don't it will show up and be visible once you pant over it.Then you'll want to use primer to cover the bare dry wall so that it doesn't absorb your paint then once the primer is up then you can paint. Lowe's sells a product that comes in a spray bottle that dissolves the glue .I cant remember the name of it but its in the wall paper dept.Hope that helps

I had the same situation, I used the embossed wallpaper available at Home Depot, its great stuff, covers almost anything, looks fantastic, when painted, my daughter even used it on a ceiling.
