I think there is someone for everyone, but not everyone will do what's required to find or keep them...and still others choose to lose faith in love, therefore some folks do, in fact, remain alone. Love is not overrated, but "what" you love determines how you respond. Some folks love their careers too much to be bothered with "love", so that's a choice they've made. Others love their fear of commitment too much....same thing applies. There are many ways to fall off track, but it's not a flaw in the system so much as a flaw with the individual.

That there is someone for everyone is a part of the romantic notion, the romantic notion of seeing the world. That notion holds the idea that there is a person who is ideal for you.
The problem with that notion is that we are more process than stasis. That is to say that we are constantly changing. As we become more aware of ourselves and the world and others our desires and our ideals change too. The more your ideas, etc. are the same as those commonly held in the community at large, then the more you are likely to find someone near your ideal. If, however, you march to a different drummer, you will find it proportionately more difficult to find a "match".
Love, is not over rated. But "Love" is not the same as obsession, obsessive desire, possession, sexual attraction, etc. Neither is love a reciprocal, commercial exchange. Though loving does tend to inspire love it may be unrequited. True love though, even if unrequited, endures. (That is not at all to say that Love requires one to endure abuse or mistreatment!) Love finds its happiness in the happiness of the other, its sorrow in the sorrow of the other. Love is kind and more giving than possessive.

yes some people stay single forever because they dont make the effort to find love and they think love should come to them.Love is just a word for sombodys feelings for sombody else and after a while the feeling start to go away if its true love the feeling never go away.Being in love is a great great feeling but it can also be the worst feelings you can ever have.Dont worry love...you will find love but dont just hope it will come to you.

Finding someone very much depends on your attitude, it might be you that needs to change, so yes, there is someone for everyone.
Love is so not over rated, nothing can compete with a feeling of complete love, safety and trust.
Good luck if you are looking for it!

There are so many different kinds of "love relationships" out there, so for someone to remain "single" their entire life, as you say, they would have to really enjoy being a hermit. And believe me, there are a few hermits out there that enjoy being and want to be alone. But for most of us, that is a reality that many cannot bear.

I believe that there is. Sometimes at the time you might not realise that this is the person for you at the time and you might let them go or because of other circumstances you can't be together.
I don't think love is overrated
