hi , im french, and i have heard that american teachers (for children aged of 6-12 years old) are not well paid and i saw that in general their salary is around 35,000 $ /year. Maybe it's a mistake, but for us in france its corresponds to25,000 euros/year, what is a really good salary. so my question is " is it hard to live with 35000$/year in usa?"
And my second question is for u americans what is the minimum salary that can suffice to live correctly?
thank u for your answers, i hope u will understand my english

Most of people in the US make less than that, and
they work 12 months per year.
35,000.00 is a good salary, don't forget about all benefits
that come along with it.

PS
The problem is: They need to learn how to handle money.
Taxes have not increase due to the war,
Taxes have increased because of school budgets
Average rent increase is 5% per year or less
Current Federal minimum wage in the USA is 5.15 per hour
Looking at the thumbs down, one can see how very umpopular the truth is.

it really depends on where you are living in the US if a salary is considered good or not...It is much less expensive to live in some areas/states than others therefore this is a hard question to answer. I would say research into the area in which you want to move on what the cost of living is and make a budget up based on what you find out. Then you will have a good idea of the minimum you would have to make living there to be comfortable.

Good luck!

Yes it is, especially when the teachers have a family to support also.

If they pay rent, rent rises $100 a year.

Don't forget about electricity, credit card bills, and the taxes have increased due to the war, and etc etc.

The best salary so survive on would be $70,000.

If you are a single person trying to live on that salary, it is difficult to own a home and maintain a "middle class" lifestyle. But not impossible.

It is different all over the country, the lowest is usually in the south, and the highest is usually found in the industrialized north.
For the most part, teachers in the U.S. are amongst the lowest paid in the industrialized world.

For a citizen, I'd say about $20/hour, if you can find a job. That's a big if.

it all depends on how one spends their money. Some waitresses get $2.50 an hour. Plus tips.
