Both were to an extent Utopians, only one was Socialist and the other was Communist (not in the Lenin/Stalin/Mao sense of the word). Owens started up many religious communes in the US that were supposed to be utopian societies. New Harmony, Indiana was just one of them, but it probably the most recognized. Rugby in Tennessee is another. All of them failed, as will all utopian societies. You can find the locations of many of them by looking for communities named Harmony, New Harmony, Providence and New Providence - but Providence RI is not one of them.

Not in the slightest. Although Owen was described by Marx as an 'utopian socialist', he ended up as a capitalist, running the New Lanark Mill after having married his employer's daughter. He was an enlightened employer, but still paternalistic - he had coloured cubes above each worker's station to show how well they were doing. Marx was an academic philosophic thinker.
