I'd support them more if they could stand up to Bush.

Almost half of the Democratic-controlled Congress consists of Republicans who obstruct virtually every move Democrats make.
As far as I'm concerned, all 535 members of the Democrat-controlled Congress should be sent to a special oil-soaked, blood-stained corner of Hell where they can rot eternally for failing to keep their promise to end this evil, immoral, insipid 'war'.
Joining them should be all 535 members of the former Republican-controlled Congress that stood by and allowed the Bush administration to run rip shod over our Constitution.
Joining them should also be George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, Don Rumsfeld and all their war-mongering friends who have allowed 675,000 Iraqis and 3,900 U.S. soldiers to sacrifice their lives so that a handful of wealthy elitists, industrials and power brokers can become wealthier and more powerful.
May God DAMN the all!!
From its very first day, the obscene 'war' has been about OIL and WAR PROFITEERING.
The Bush family had a personal vendetta against Saddam Hussein since the days of Desert Storm when George H.W. Bush was criticized, ridiculed, and humiliated for not 'finishing the job' and ousting Hussein at that time.
Cheney and his oil-obsessed friends coveted all that 'black gold' swimming underneath Iraq's sands.
The giant U.S. military-industrial complex [which Eisenhower warned us about] needed a new 'war' to boost its sagging profits after too many years of peace.
So, a 'terrorist attack' was staged on 9-11-01. With emotions running high, Bush blamed Hussein, then lied to Congress, hoodwinked the American people, and conned our courageous troops into believing there was honorable purpose in attacking another nation that in no way threatened, provoked or attacked the United States.
I don't know where you got your 11% statistic, but that's irrelevant. What's relevant is that Congress as a whole - Democrats and Republicans alike - is held in such disdain by most Americans. These are slothful, arrogant, wicked, incompetent, contemptible, cowardly, corrupt people that hold themselves up as "honorable" and "patriotic" and "trustworthy" when, indeed, they're a collective gang of thugs, perverts, wife beaters, alcoholics, pedophiles, sex offenders, drug abusers, liars, lawyers, prescription pill poppers, cheats, thieves, lawyers, gambling addicts, adulterers, homosexuals, money-grubbers, narcissists, psychopaths, and (did I mention?) lawyers.
It's not just the Democrats, as your propagandists Rush Limbaugh and Ann Coulter might have you believe. Why not open your eyes, think for yourself instead of being brainwashed, and come to an understanding that our entire monopolistic two-party system is corrupt and unworthy of Americans' confidence?? -RKO- 10/28/07

Nope, seems like congress can't get anything done. They can't even get a bill to the president's desk that is worth a hill of beans. They did set a record for the latest date that there (still) hasn't been a government spending bill sent to the president's desk.

I supported them, but unfortunately my representative is a Republican. I did vote for the democrat running in 2006. It was an open seat race. It was a race in which dad left the office so his son could get in.

I don't support the congress, but only because they seem to
lack the ability to stop the President from acting like a jack@$$.
It has nothing to do with party lines.

No I don't.
Since the dems took over, what did they do to benefit this country? NUTHIN' !!!! Nuthin' but throw mud at Bush and try to get re-elected !
It really must be awful to be a lib.... Even when you win a few seats you can't get ahead.
I feel sorry for you! I really do! High hopes when Pelosi got in and all..... Just to find out shes nothing more than parsley..... It looks pretty on the plate.....but does little more than sit there, not adding flavor to the dish...Just kind'a hanging out on the edge....Sad, very sad indeed.
A vote is a terrible thing to waste .

I've said it so many times it's getting really old.
To the ones that are touting that 47% of congress is Republican?
Explain this. Why is it that these numbers never went that low when it was Rep led?
We're talking record lows here.
It's amazing.

Yes I am. The reason that they have a lower approval rating is because they made promises for the country's good that they couldn't achieve without the help of the president. It is a system of checks and balances, Dems needed a couple more seats to really make the difference. With the Prez and Vice Prez being Republican we can't do what was promised. No Congress regardless of party affiliation could though.
And the reason the Republican Congress was so liked was because Bush sent everything through he liked.
BTW, funny how when it is Bush's approval rating you guys want to throw the facts out (unless it is positive change) and when it is against the Dems it is your soapbox topic. Either they matter or they don't. Make a choice.

Wow, that is pretty low for the democrat controlled congress. Maybe they should start doing what they promised a YEAR ago and stop harassing private citizens with letters to their bosses and meaningless phony "censures".
