is there anyway to find out static address without calling cable provider ?

If you mean a PUBLIC / Internet IP use
http://whatismyip.com

The number that shows is your IP.
If you are behind a router, your computer will have a local IP as well. You can see that one from the "status" on your network connection icon.

yup, look at the bill! a static IP address is way more expensive than a dynamic one

if your domain is an institution sized network, you may have a static IP (try a whois of your instituition)

if your domain is at your home...pah! your sucking up whatever an ISP will give you for $50 or less

click on your os and follow the directions to set up a static ip and/or find out your static ip
