Always do what's in the parens first. So it's 1 1/10 divided by 90.

(11-10 is supposed to be 1 1/10th, right?)

1. Solve what's in the parentheses (10x9= 90).
2. Solve what's on the top of the line (11-10= 1).
3. Divide (1/90).

A good way to remember the order of operations is:
Parentheses (Please)
Exponents (Excuse)
Multiplication (My)
Division (Dear)
Addition (Aunt)
Subtraction (Sally)

11-10/10x9.

This really depends on how the problem was expressed. If it was given to you in the form (11-10)/(10x9) your answer would be 1/90.

If it was express as 11-10/10 x 90..Do the divison first to yield 11 - 1 x 90..11-90..To give an answer of -79.

Hope this helps you

I don't know the answer (but I do now after reading all the answers from the smart people out there)!

I must say, it suddenly made me feel real stupid. At the age of 58 and one who is a college graduate, it amazes me how soon we forget all those little secrets we once knew.

Don't feel bad about having to ask.

I think I'll go back to my room and cry.

the order is really simple just remember:
Please
Excuse
My
Dear
Aunt
Sally

the first letter of each word stands for something:

P- paranthesis
E- exponents
M- multiplication
D- division
A- addition
S- subtraction

multiplication and division are done first from left to right
same goes for addition and subtraction

so the answer to your question would be:

1 divided by 90 = 1/90
