Tram 9 and tram 5 never crossed paths anywhere. Tram 5 leaves from the west-side of Centraal Station, whereas Tram 9 from the east-side, and then going their separate paths.

The best bet for you will be to take tram 9 to Waterlooplein (from Diemen), and then catch the Metro to Station Zuid and Spaklerweg.

For Leidseplein and Koningsplein, catch Tram 9 to Rokin, and then cross Kalverstraat to get to Koningsplein. From Koningsplein you can take tram 1, 2 or 5 to Leidseplein. You can also take Tram 9 to Dam, walk and cross the Dam to front of Magna Plaza, and take 1, 2 and 5.

The stops that the 5 and 9 share are Spui, Dam and central station. So pretty much at the end of your trip.

You can check the tram-map over here:

The route is shown here:

It looks like you might need to change trams for several of your destinations, but as I always use the tram from Central station, I can not tell you where or which.
You can ask at the tram stops, or go to one of the offices of the GVB and ask them to explain it if you can not work it out for yourself.
