Ive done 500 with the help of a labourer at £1.00 a block in the 1980s

You need a good labourer as well as a top class brickie !! Good brickies love laying blocks because of the size and quantity that can be laid if he gets paid on pricework. If there not used for face work then it don,t really matter too much about looks.

I walled (with labourer) 810 100mm blocks so I could get paid off a job before starting a new one (they only paid for full lifts), I had the next 3 weeks off with a bad back :>(
