Do you have a source that he "photocopied Bush's speech" and read it verbatim?
This may come as a bit of surprise to you but Steven Harper and his party are conservatives (as in the political ideology, not talking about their party name).
That being the case, it is hardly surprising that his positions on various issues would be the same or similar to that of Canada's closest neighbour's president (and Republicans in general) would are also, believe it or not, conservative.
If I was really inclined to do so, I could probably find many instances of Jean Cretien of having the exact same positions on issues as Bill Clinton, being that both of them happen to be liberal. Yet that would not be a valid argument to say that Cretien did everything Clinton did the time when both were in power.
For the record, America's vote on the Kyoto protocols took place when Clinton was in power. Both sides (Democrats and Republicans) rejected it. Canada, as we know, accepted it. Meanwhile, Canada never made its targets under the protocols. That being the case, Canada is no better than the US in this regard except the US was more honest about the situation.
And since you were wondering what is wrong with the opposition, well, basically if they toppled the government they'd be handing the Tories a majority government.

You're RIGHT!
He should say different things from President Bush, JUST so he won't be perceived as a copy-cat!
What a brilliant idea!
Politics finally goes to full-out simulated honesty and integrity with none of the content!
Funny how many people in life seem to copy each other about so many things.
Its the people in J Ward and other asylums that always think everyone ELSE is crazy and copy-catting each other.
Then they wonder why everyone else, who SHOULD see the truth, don't.
Never occurs to them that the rest of the world has it right, has no interest in actually toppling anything, and that what differences we have are minor compared to the main points:
1) We won the war in Iraq and it would NOT be in the world's best interest to let it fall to Islamic Fundamentalists, as Islam is presently in a civil war for control of the Middle East with factions within itself.
2) Scientists themselves are divided over global warming with the majority of experts NOT seeing it, yet we're expected to "Believe".
3) In most free societies, we DON'T topple our governments because we have something called "a vote". We choose much of our own government and don't really like the actions and efforts of those who try to force the methods of less free countries (toppling, overthrowing, etc.) on us.
What's wrong with Canada?
They love freedom. The respect dissent. They know the truth will come out eventually, whatever that is, because they have freedom of speech.
Sad that that's what some people don't want. They want violence and people doing things just to avoid "looking bad".

Don't give the current "opposition" too much credit. #1 they don't have any better ideas than those already in power, or they would be the ones in power. #2 they don't really want power because then their lack of original ideas and plans would be transparent to all. #3 they are not nearly as popular as the little leftist whiners want to believe. If they were, they wouldn't fall an their faces each time they made a move.

Perhaps because he believes in doing the right thing regardless what leftist whiners say. Taking into account real world facts and data instead of touchy-feely reasons that have no basis in reality.
