You could have internal hemorrhoids that you can't feel, but rectal bleeding can also be a sign of other things... You really should go to a doctor.. I know it's expensive, but it's better to find out that it's something minor than wait until it's something that can really affect your health.. good luck

Bright red blood in the stools can be just as serious as tarry stools. How much blood it there? If it looks like somebody marked the toilet paper with a red pencil, then it's safe to wait a bit and try an over-the-counter treatment for piles.

But if it's enough to turn the water pink, then you need medical help right away, insurance or not. There are several very nasty bowel diseases, such as Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, that can cause red-blood bleeding.

A drop or two of blood can be caused by anal fissures, basically cracks from straining to pass hard stools. Those are relatively harmless and can be cured by getting more fiber in your diet. But if the water looks pink, get yourself to a doctor even if you have to hock your computer. The diseases that cause profuse bleeding can be deadly. My brother died of ulcerative colitis.

Haemmoroids can be internal too...suspect (hope) you didn't check that out!

It is most probably haemmoroids

But...has your stool or frequency of bowel movements changed? Rectal bleeding can also be a sign of a colon/rectal cancer. .

Even without insurance, you should go and get yourself checked. If it is cancer, the earlier it is found, the simpler and more effective the treatment. Hubby has just got the all-clear from colon cancer - he had no symptoms until it grew through the appendix wall!

Oh but you must immediately. My ex did this, was recommended for a colonoscopy, and they found a tumor the size of a baseball! This was a stage 3 cancer. Last week he returned to work after eight months of treatment: surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy. HE IS CANCER-FREE.

He had ignored rectal bleeding, thinking it was hemorrhoids.

Now, you with no insurance, YOU DON'T WANT TO LOSE YOUR LIFE, which my ex would have done without the treatment he received. If you have this problem, you must get treatment, even if you have to go on welfare to get what you need. Stop fooling around. Start by going to the doctor and find out what's going on NOW.

Please, please go. Write back here to say how you are making out. There is help for those without insurance. Please go.

hemmoroids are inside the rectum and have very little sense of feeling so you probably wouldn't know if they were sore and inflamed. external ones can be quite painful though. if the blood is bright red and appears mostly in streaks, it is probably hemms. if it is dark and thick, or you are having dark tarry stools, you need to get to a doc soon as that is internal gi bleeding an can be very serious. try taking colace and eating high fiber foods to soften your stools and see if this helps with the bleeding. some hemms have to be surgically removed.

What colour is the blood? If it is bright red, it's more likely to be piles. If it is darker red and is in the stools, then you need to see a doctor. It may be nothing but it may be something.

If the blood is bright red it's definitely bleeding caused from the straining and wiping with rough TP. If it is black it's internal intestinal bleeding. Eat more fiber, switch TP and stop straining.

There can be internal hemorrhoids that you cannot feel or a polyp. Despite the no insurance the blood is a warning. Go to the doctor...it could be serious.
