i mean what do people usually get them for?i know for like business owners and people who need all this scheduling but i don't really need it. I just want to know what else are assistants usually willing to do?

Hi personal assistant usually denotes that you want the person to do things outside the frame of usual OFFICE related activities.
Such as: personal or household errands.
You can ask a PERSONAL assistant to pick up your drycleaning. You could ask your OFFICE assistant but don't be surprised if you get told off or she quits!

Answer the phone, and either screen out people you don't want to talk to, or announce people to you that you do want to talk to.
Type things.
Arrange meetings and appointments.
Open mail.
File things properly.
File out forms and applications.
keep the office well organized.
Keep track of your schedule.

anything that you would normally do or need done as long as it is not illegal and relates to your business. Remember they are not servants, don't send them out to pick up your laundry, kids from school and the like.
