Hey everyone.. I'm eight months pregnant due November 20 and I was just wondering if I could cut my own babies umbilical cord? The father is over seas and I wanted to do something like that so would there be any possible way that I would be able to do that? I'm going to ask my doc but I wanted to see if any one on here knows.

Yes you can cut it, the doctor will let you no problem as long as you don't have to get a C section.
Also look into cord blood banking.
If you decide against that, or cant afford it, make sure the cord stops pulsating before you cut it. Its better for the baby.

As I was only having 2 children hah ah ah . My partner cut the firstborns cord and I cut the second sons cord. My daughter was cut by her father and now this 4th baby will have its cord cut by my sister who is my best friend. Try to tell the midwives when you go into labour .

Yes usually you can however occasionally it is too short, and some mothers find they are unable to cut the cord because it is part of the baby.

I'm sure you probably could....just make sure everyone knows ahead of time so there isn't a slip up and someone else ends up doing it. lol.

Of course you can, why would they care if it's the father or the mother?
I will tell you that I doubt you will want to, I was just wanting to hold my girls.
