i had to get the cops to go with me to retrieve my tools because he basically is nuts.he had told another employee he was going to stomp a mudhole in him .and he has a44 pistol and a bad temper.My question is can he legally call my new employer

Threatening a person is a criminal case. If you want file a case against your boss for grave threats.

Nothing can prevent him from contactin your new employer and advising him. The new employer will even thank him for the tip and promise him to keep the contact secret.It may be that your new employer may take his own independent decision or may call you and ask him what was wrong between you and your previous employer. If he is convinced that the old employer is wrong he may just ignore his advice and keep you on. However, if you feel that the old employer had a real grievance against y0ur workk try to improve andpromise the new employer and convince him. Or else be on the lookout for a new job. The advice by one answerer that you can prosecute your employer and even own his factory does not seem to be in keeping with th e situation.

Employers now, have a hard time making any comments about previous employees other than the fact that they worked there and if they left on their own or were fired. Depending on what he says, and if you can obtain proof of it, you could have a court case.

I know a couple guys in north Jersey who can take care of your boss for you. Sounds like he could be the victim of an unfortunate "accident."

Don't worry, if he does that you own his butt. Highly illegal and very stupid. You could sue him and practically own his company.
