Knowledge is such a flimsy thing, everything that we believe to be true is only presumed so, when it is apllied to the world in which we live. I know i may come across as sounding crazy, but maybe somebody will understand me,

I understand you completely. And the answer is, "No, we can never know anybody or anything else completely." And there's no shortage of 'proofs' of that, both logical and experiential ☺

It's all in our heads. We can't prove we know anything. Is your presumed knowledge causing a problem? Do others' presumed realities seem very alien to yours? Hmmmm, join the club. And a question my partner is always asking me is, 'How do we know we're not just part of a huge computer game?' Which might mean we have lots more control over our sordid, insignificant lives than we thought. Or less, depending on who's playing... For me, at my ripe old age, I like to simply believe what I think I know e.g. I like the taste of what I call cheese and mango chutney or I like the activity I call swimming. Is that what you mean? How else would you motivate yourself to even brush your teeth? As far as knowing other people goes, well, do you really know yourself? I get bitter that people around me are so dishonest and sheep-like but I'm probably just as guarded about myself. Scared of people seeing that I have prejudices/jealousies/phobias and other human frailties. I don't know the best thing to do except what I already do. And can we really be different anyway? Maybe that's for another time... Is that what you meant??

It's questionable whether we actually know the truth about
anything as each little blade of grass is composed of
thousands of minute particles of DNA that contain
trillions of sub atomic particles that all contain information.
Probably the best we can do is just get a whiff of the aroma of
the possibility of truth. When it comes to the abstracts
of the human thought processes, their origin in the
collective unconscious, mixed with the bombardment
of incoming information...well.....no, we can't even get
close. I'm always amused at people that say "we know
each other so well, we're like the same person".

You are philosphical this morning. I think we can only know someone as much as they want us to know. Most people don't take the time to find out about someone. You can get to know someones character by just talking and asking what they think about a situation. Example: Would you still be friends with someone who cheats at cards if you were all playing for points?
It is true that everything we know to be true is only presumed so.
This is where empirical reasoning comes into play. And if you want to get off the merry go round of circle questions, you'll need to decide for yourself what is true and what isn't based on your own impressions, experiences and senses.

So called knowledge is based on perceptual conclusions drawn from sensory observation.

Sensory observation seems so reliable, but it isn't.

It is too dependent on cultural filters and is always point of view specific.

Genuine knowledge is correlated with a sense of awe and an appreciation for mystery.

General stuff, like "sensitive, self-conscious, shy, social, introverted, extroverted, party animal."

Thats how much we can gauge people. But everyone has a little side they don't show to everyone. And its this little side that can intrigue everyone else.

Only when we know our self can we understand others. You can truly "know" what you want but you have to look inside to get there.
