I was given the duty of naming our child if it was a boy and my wife would name the baby if it was a girl. On Oct. 23, 2007 we had a handsome baby boy. I chose the name Phoenix Alexander followed by our last name. Keep in mind, I am 47 years old and by no means a modern day parent. The name just came to me and I felt it was somewhat unique without being crazy. I have had positive feedback on the name so far. Any thoughts from the internet world?

What an awesome name! I have always loved the name Phoenix, and it looks great and super manly with Alexander as the middle name. The only problem here is what you guys will name future kids to keep up with Phoenix lol (if you're planning on it of course lol). Wren? Sparrow? Idk I'm just throwing random bird names out there now.

Congrats on the baby too!

PS A friend of mine had a baby a couple months ago, and her name reminds me of Phoenix's (it's a girl): Phoebe Alexandria! Her nickname is Pax, (the P and the A and x), if you'd like to consider that (I'm pretty sure those two will never meet anywhere anyway lol). You could also call him Fin (Phoebe's twin is Phinnaeus... don't ask lmao).

I like Phoenix Alexander. It is always good to give a child a common middle name if he/she has a cool uncommon name so he/she can always go by the safe middle name if they want. It also works vice versa. My name is Courtney Aaliyah. I have a classic first name and a unique middle name.

Phoenix Alexander Keep
I think Phoenix is cool, myself
I also think, if the child grows up, or your wife not crazy about Phoenix, he can go by Alex or Zander

My mom Julia Elizabeth, and went by Betty, I am Mary Jean, and go by Jeanne, so I do not think it's odd
My father side calls me MaryJean and my mothers calls me Jeannie.

Phoenix Alexander is a cool name
Congratulations

i think Alexander Phoenix sounds a little better. Long name followed by a nice short name always sounds better. making the syllabuls flow and all.
Phoenix is very unique and not often found.
congrats on the son!

I'm sorry, but I have never understood the Phoenix trend. I think the name is a bit tacky. It's like a superhero name.

The only time I know of Phoenix being used as a forfename is Mel B's elder daughter, Phoenix Chi, and I thought it was pretentious then when I saw it. Call him Freddie Alexander, a good strong name that he won't be embarassed by in years to come is my advice.
