Isn't this quite hypocritical? I mean moroccan men can have sex before marriage and are even encouraged to do it but women are often shamed and discouraged sometimes even killed for doing it? Why the huge double standard?

Misviv is lying. Although four witnesses are required for crimes, if only one witness is present, their testimony counts as that of four people (Qur'an, 24:6-9).
Neither men nor women are to have pre/extra marital sex. It is forbidden in Islam regardless of gender (Qur'an, 24:19, 24:30, and plenty of others).

men can have sex before marriage because there is no way to prove that they did as for women if they do it the husband to be is the ex husband and she is put on a pillory by her own familly, exept the happy case when they want to cover it up to everyone here saying what u said is such a big lie - i'm sure you can open your eyes and see the reality, i lived there and women have no right to a private life, no kissing, no nothing and i'm not talking abt exeptions men go out and have sex with who? with a lot of girls that prone to still be virgins the reality is people are having sex and they should, but they should not hide it, everybody on this earth is having sex, christian, jew, muslim, budhist and the list goes on

Hello there, I'm a Man and I'm from morocco living in morocco, so i guess I'm in a better position to answer this question than any other.
Well to start with i don't know where you got your information from, maybe you meant Monaco and not morocco, because in the morocco i live in, we are not allowed and much less encouraged to have sex, saying that it doesn't mean that some (underline "some" please) men do sleep with women knowing that they are doing something "wrong" so it's not a rule or a common thing to do in morocco, no matter how it looks like.
As for women being killed for that, well i heard of that a lot in Syria and Jordan, but not in here...sorry to disappoint you.

They are not encouraged to and they aren't allowed either. At least not if they are muslim.
In Islam it is FORBIBBEN to have unlawful sex. This means that you are not allowed to have sex outside of marriage. Doing so is something that the person who committs this act to be accountable for it on the day of judgement.

Encouraged to have sex? Are your forgetting that the religion there is Islam and premarital sex is forbidden? Where do you get your information from?

its haram for any muslim men to have sex before marriage be it they morroccan,or spanish or indian..
the muslim men who do have sex before marriage will have too answer too allah..soo they will only have themself too blame..
its not case of double standards,sex between married couple in islam is also classified as Sadka,also you get reward for it!!
if you have sweetness of iman then it shouldnt be problem from refraining from sex till your married!!

Dont forget women are different to men, first of all who says Moroccan men are allowed to do this? you must be weak minded/hearted, gullable & insecure to believe what people say, these so called men are not Islamic otherwise they wont say things like this, another thing is that it looks bad for women to flirt, have sex before marriage etc, women are maturer then men, women are sensative then men, women are more emotional then men, women tend to have more self-respect them men, women have beauty which attracts guys, so if a woman wants sex before marriage it looks she is desperate, has no self-respect, no dignity, no pride, it looks like she is easy so people would call her dirty names like prostitute, sluuut, slaaaaaaaper, taaart etc, men are men, simple as, if women make it easy for men to have sex with them then they are infact encouraging them, the attractive slim tall fair women always seem to have self-respect & have successful lives, they are secure & have their dignity, but anyway where u got this idead of Morrocon men havign sex before marriage is totally DUMB,lol, any guy from anywhere can have sex before marriage, so can a woman,but those with self-respect, attraction & smart seem to wait till marriage, thats why these women have a happy successful life whereas women before sex end up single mothers, emotionally unstable, rejected, isolated, it will always look bad for a woman no matter what, fact is women are different to men, men have a higher sex drive them girls, men are more into phsycally aspect then women,women are more into respect & wanting the guy to earn her respect, its natural for guys to be more into sex them women, but if a girl is into sex then she is desperate, degrading, its a turn off & also because she is insecure & will always be hated in life, trust me.

I haven't heard of any single women being killed for that in Morocco. But I have heard of married women who were suspected of adultery who had their cheeks slashed instead of their throats, before being divorced.
