Way too late! Sports stars (those who succeeded well) have ALWAYS been 'commercialized' (re: Paid in some manner) by their societies ... whether it is in the form of food, housing and clothing/training ... or like now .. where buckets of money are thrown at them (and these nowaday ones are vastly overpaid .. and .. if you look at it .. those sports/warrior elite of the past societies had to work a LOT harder for their income and were quite a bit more talented too!).
