"Rendition"-in theaters now. A Syrian with a Canadian citizenship gets taken hostage by the United States and detained in JFK airport by CIA officials. The captive is held in a Syrian prison and tortured for ten months when they realize they have the wrong guy. That's the true story..in the movie he is an Egyptian linked to a bombing but even the fiction based on one mans true story is well done and the "rendition" policy of the USA is now under investigation in Germany. 700 something rendition flights stopped there and then went on to their next location. A real reality check.

Ah, 'Midnight Express' was based on a true story. Its about a guy who gets caught trying to smuggle drugs out of Turkey, & what happens when he goes to the prison. Its a very harrowing story & made me feel exhausted with all the emotions i experienced while watching it. Its an old film, but well worth a look in.
