Another possibility:

If it is a clear green, it may be due to high copper levels in the water. Generally, the metal content of the fill water (most commonly iron and copper) should be tested and the metal removed before any other chemicals are added. This may be what has happened here. (This could explain why it happened so soon after adding the salt; it may be a similar reaction as what often happens when shocking a pool with a high metal content. It oxidizes and becomes visible. ) Ph stabilizers (alkalinity adjusters) often have the same effect; turning pools with high copper levels green. Have the water tested and treat it for metals if applicable.

(Unfortunately, if it is a metal problem, a sand filter will very likely take a long time to clear the pool up.)

The salt threw off the pH of the pool causing the the green color. When the chlorine generator kicks in, your water will turn blue again. The system is designed to eliminate the need to constantly add chlorine to your pool. You'll need to check your filter often during this process. Good luck.

Normal. I would shock it. You can wait for the salt generator to kick in.
