I saw your question, and was prepared to post my answer; the St. John's River in Florida....>grin<

The Withlacoochee River also flows north...northwest. It goes from the Green Swamp near Lakeland in Polk County, and ends at Yankeetown, in Levy County, where it dumps into the gulf of Mexico. I've paddled parts of the Withlacoochee a couple of times...it is gorgeous. There is another river named Withlacoochee that flows from Georgia to Florida....I'm not sure why both rivers have the same name.

I remember the Rhine river from my school days. The Rhine flows from Switzerland, between France and Germany, through the Netherlands to the North Sea.

The Genesee Rivers flows from the New York/Pennsylvania border into Lake Ontario and from there into the St. Lawrence to the Altantic.

The Niagara River is also a South to North flowing river from Lake Erie to Lake Ontario.

I've answered this question b4. Well, there's also the Nile & a few rivers in Russia that empty into the Arctic Ocean (i.e. Ob, Lena, Yenisey). The Mackenzie River in Canada generally flows north but in a northwest direction.

the MacKenzie in northern Canada generally flows southeast-northwest, if that counts.

The Red River in Manitoba (also called the Red River of the North in the north central US).

In Quebec, the Richelieu and Chaudiere.

The Genesee and Niagara in NY. There are others in Canada, the US side of the Great Lakes, and Siberia, too, but I don't recall enough names at the moment.

Since *everybody* is going to say the Nile... How about the Rhine river in Europe? That's sort of southeast-to-northwest.

The Nile - its various sources are in Ethiopia and Lake Victoria and it flows almost due north to Egypt to enter the Mediterranean Sea
