Actually, you have an interesting point. Most of the state department is made up of career employees. These employees are rewarded for going to difficult posts.
But they aren't going! So what does this indicate? Career diplomats don't support the republicant war in Iraq and Afghanistan. Well, I don't understand why? Our fearless leader, and the other fearless chickenhawks have said charge! But people whose careers depends on knowing the impacts of policies and diplomatic blunders, er initiatives, aren't buying it!?!?!?!????
Look at how many of the chickenhawks that are beating the war drums for Iraq and Iran actually served more than cocktails and snacks during the VN war, and how many have kids serving more than the same now.
They prowdly wear their cheap-*** lapel flag pins, and call for supporting the troops (but kindly don't raise the taxes to do so), and call for sending more troops (so there is no draft, and their kids/grandkids don't get distracted from Cheney's "better things to do").
You got it! Actually no, you almost got it. Republicans are cowards. They are big on talk, and big on action, as long as it is someone else that is going!
Lest the chickenhawks start squawking - I am a flaming liberal. I volunteered for the USMC. I turned down a posting at HQ/MC and volunteered and went to Vietnam. I have my DD-214. More than most republicant herows!

Diplomats are civil servants not elected and not affiliated with any political party....I wouldn't want to serve either when my country is banning Free Speech for American Citizens. It makes Democracy a Hard sell and makes you no better than them.

The republicans are out to make the rich richer. But we don't take no s**t of anybody. Where as a Democrat, will help the poor, but raise their taxes at the same time, while helping the rich get richer, and giving away our nation to keep from defending it or an invasion taking place. Where the Liberals, would put us in a mess either way. Were just a screwed people, unless your rich.

Oh sure, there's a problem, let's find someone to blame it on instead of finding a solution. Do us all a favor and back away from your computer. I don't see any democrats jumping up to serve at the Embassy.

The State Department is civil service. They are not removed and replaced with every administration
It makes you sound like a moron when you blame every problem on Republicans. Do you see Republican ghosts in the night. Did the Republicans take the last cookie?

How embarrassing for you. You apparently do not know that the majority of the staff of the Department of State are professional civil servants. They are not republican appointees.

Screw you lib. What have you done for this country other than drain it of resources and create carbon gases? I've served my county and I think its time for some of you ignorant lazy bastard libs to get off your asses and do something that benefits this country. you are nothing but a liability on our society.
