When the world's population continues to grow and there wil be less land area due to global warming and melting of ice caps and glaciers, they might make every car park laterally for more land space.

They have gotten half way there. I remember seeing a car where you can turn a knob on the centre console and it will angle the rear wheels too, but they can't get them to 90 degrees, so it still requires pulling in at an angle, but it makes it possible to get into tighter spots.

Go google "four wheel steering" if you're really interested.

I think they do already.
I think it is the GMC, or Yukon truck when the wheels turn so that you can park almost side ways.
Of course that is an option on the vehicle.
I know of a person that has one, but never really asked how it works.

Lexus has kind of made one. You just stop a few feet away from the space, put some info on a computer screen, lift your feet off the brakes, and the computer takes over.

Actually, there is one. I remember seeing it on TV. Some models now have a back up camera. A great idea, but not affordable for the likes of me.
