If nothing is created and nothing is destroyed how can everything be transformed. There has to be something if it is transformed.

If nothing is created means nothing ever is created then there is no beginning and there is no end either to all that exists; and also there is nothing but every thing as everything, as a singularity forever. I see that this is a powerful concoction for thought, which first of all, eliminates the possibility of existence of thought as independent entity in existence itself, thought in its abstract and most original form, that there are no original, intuitive, creative or thoughts transcendental of all that already is there, but only shadows of a world around cast upon merely observing mind.

Then what is ‘transformation’? According to the ultimate meaning of this statement there is in fact no transformation either, just an allusion of the same thing being different when viewed in different ways; that we see things changing, growing, surfacing, blossoming, withering, appearing and disappearing where in fact nothing changes, nothing grows or decays, nothing appears or disappears, it is just our mind that undergoes phases of sensory illusions.

Even after having conceded to all this there still remains a sense of wonder that make me ask – if everything is being constantly transformed then there must be something that is not as there must be something that is fixed and permanent in the middle of all this enabling me to observe - which logically proves that there are more things in the world instead of being just one, differently shaped at different places: one that is transformation and the other relatively fixed and observing.

The nothing is destroyed or created bit is used in physics everyday.
It is also a comforting thought for those who believe in the soul - a person is not destroyed - only transformed into something we cannot understand.

It works for science and religion both :)

This is more easily understandable if one considers the actual scale of the components of an atom. If one takes into account the fact that the neutrons, protons and electrons of an atom actually have huge spaces between them it becomes clear that the atoms that make up seemingly solid objects are made up of 99+ percent empty space.

This alone does not seem too important till you add the idea that the atoms that make up seemingly solid objects are more of a loose conglomeration that share a similar attraction but never really touch each other.

At first glance this does not really seem relevant, but closer analysis reveals that this adds a tremendous amount of empty space to solid objects that are already made up of atoms that are 99 percent space. When so-called solid objects are seen in this light it becomes apparent that they can in no way be the seemingly solid objects they appear to be.

We ourselves are not exceptions to this phenomenon.

These seemingly solid objects are more like ghostly images that we interpret as solid objects based on our perceptual conclusions.

From this we must conclude that Perception is some sort of a trick that helps us to take these ghostly images and turn them into a world we can associate and interact with. This clever device seems to be a creation of our intellect that enables us to interact with each other in what appears to be a three dimensional reality.

I hope that helps to answered your question.

I think it's an over-generalization. Certain some things can be created and destroyed, like a house, or a song. scientists tell us that matter cannot be created or destroyed, and I guess they'd know, but if you want to see something destroyed, watch my ex wife drive a car.

quite true - like the conservation of energy theory which says that all energy cannot be destroyed it can only be transformed from one energy to another - like electrical to sound/heat from a stereo. but more importantly in a life sense everyone is born into a world of awareness, feeling and sensations which exist already - we are like tea bags in a cup of water our bodies are the tea bag and leaves while the tea itself diluted in the water is what we are aware of, what we feel and what we sense. the tea in the water dilutes itself outside the bag as well as inisde. the tea cannot be created nor destroyed but only altered into different strengths - does that make sense?

it's quite a good analogy

Science says that energy can neither be created
nor be destroyed. Electricity generation is simply
an energy conversion method and not creation
method.

The Hindu Upanishads say that matter is created
from energy in nature. Science says that matter
gets converted to energy according the formula:

E= m*c*c

I think it is true.

Reason being is that all things are made up of basic elements and on mater how you try they can only be rearranged in to different combinations and never be destroyed no mater what you do or how you treat them they stay elements.
