Well, in my opinion i think that u should close ur eyes & take a deep breathe while studying.1st of all u have to make ur own timings & routines .Learning should be within a time frame.Ur learning should be based on ur own individual style.Have a regular study place. Now , when u r studying , try to jot down the(key words) main ideas or the main points & underline it with ur marker pen & learn them by heart.Don't waste ur time in memorizing the entire paragraph or the answer of the question. If u know the key words, then it is very easy to frame the answers.Try to recollect the answers that u have learnt.Always try to write in a new copy without looking at the answers. Read faster & understand better. At slow reading speeds, the mind does not have enough processing to do,so it has some time to get distracted which results in poor concentration.Use ur finger to guide your mind.Take breaks for 15 mins. or may be before starting a new answer.Relax urself, drink a glass of water to refresh ur mind.Listening to music is equally important as studying or writing.Eat healthy & sleep well.(During exams try to be cool & relax.Sleep well duing the exam days.Don't just eat heavy breakfast or lunch for 3 hours before an exam).Follow the instructions .And i am sure that u will definately do well.Keep in mind that "Its ur life make it large, becoz u have an aim.No u should not think the idea of running away from ur house becoz later on u will have to feed ur parents.YES, u should have the determination to study well & reach the GOAL.''ALL THE BEST''.

Do NOT give it up. The lower points you got than your friends', the more you put your effort in. Do NOT discourage. Last semester, you couldn't, but this semester you CAN. You even should think that you got only 237/300 last semester, so this semester you MUST earn more than 280s for set-off the last semester's points. That's all. Do not think negative when you study, just put a sharp mind in what you should/MUST do. Don't think about confidence right now, don't think that you can't do it, just think that you MUST earn more than 280s for set-off the last semester's points, and you CAN Do, or you MUST do. Then, when you get over it, you can think or comment whatever about you.

The obvious reason for your degrading performance seems to be the idea of running away from your house . You say there is not much pressure on yourself to study well from your parents. There is some other reason why you want to run away from your home and that is bothering you with your concentration. Take inspiration from people who have achieved in the field that you plan to take.Like if you want to become an astronaut , keep thinking about Sunita Williams and how she was able to achieve all that she did , in your mind and if you can get hold of her email , she can give you some of her thoughts and some confidence that you need, and so also in other fields.

It's really hard to "fail" at something you tried at. It can utterly decimate your confidence and wreck your future chances if you don't keep it in perspective.

I had the same thing happen to me my freshman year in college. I was a straight A/A- student without any effort throughout high school, and bam! College, first test, and a C (and I even sorta studied--which was a lot for me at the time!) It crushed me, and it took me, seriously two years to recover!!!

I know you are really freaked out now. You are afraid of another failure, so you don't even want to try and study. Your mind locks up when you try and refuses to focus. You feel like you aren't able to learn anything/you're afraid to try, and then you just want to stop studying all together. In essence, you're causing your own mind block when you try to study. The good news it that it doesn't have to be like that for you, and you CAN get a handle on it pretty quickly.

First of all, it is ONE test out of many many many that you will take. Perhaps this was just an especially hard, or not even particularly well written test. Perhaps this will be one subject with which you will struggle. Maybe you were especially nervous and just had an off day (we ALL have em!). That's OKAY. ALLOW yourself to NOT be perfect. There will be plenty of other chances later!

There are things you can do to get aruond this block. Look at what you might be able to change for future tests (perhaps get a study buddy or a tutor?). Keep this in perspective and realize that as you're getting older, the schooling will change, so your study habits may need changing too. School counselors often have resources you can go to for tips and help with study skills as well. You might even do well to talk to the teacher that gave you this test and just tell him/her how you are feeling and see if they can help you.

It's REALLY good that you have taken it upon yourself to study (esp. when your parents aren't making you) and THAT self-discipline WILL get you far!!! Don't let this one instance sabotage future chances. It sounds like you have all the makings (smart, self-motivated, willingness to learn and try) to make it far!

Best of luck!!!

Do u think that running away from problems will solve every issues? Determination, will power, courage, commitment, confidence are the few things which you need to keep in mind and work. People tell u that u r smart and so u might have developed a kind of superiority complex but again y u fall into inferiorness? u hav miles to go in ur life.. improvise ur memory power nd see the difference. I was bad more than you. I hav cried lot nights. Today i take classes for students on personality skills though i face a lot of probs in life. Tat's the way of life.

Realise that academic success is unrelated to personal success. As long as you did your best be proud of what you have achieved. If you believe you will do better next term you probably will.

Go and read Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill. It highlights that academic success is no measure of what you can achieve.

Look at Winston Churchill, the most powerful and inspirational leader this country has ever had. His school report when he left school was that he was too stupid to ever achieve anything!

Stop putting yourself under pressure. As long as you do your best the results don't really matter nearly as much as your attitude to those results. You did a lot better than average so go celebrate!

Relax. It's not the end of the world if you get 0/300, and not every thing will be okay in your life if you get 300/300.

The best thing to do is to take life as it comes. Try to have time to exercise and have fun because it relaxes you and opens up your mind. Make sure you see your instructors because they tend to motivate you and know what's making you not achieve your best results.
Right now I'm in college and my instructors have offered me the best advice anyone has ever given me.
One last thing, attempt various challenging questions, and try to find out the questions that usually come from previous exams. You'll be amazed how well you perform when you follow my advice. Good luck to you.

dont ever think of 2 run away from ur home.
make studying interesting by using mind maps,
picture, flow charts,etc.
1st u need to under stand the concepts which i quite
boring but try it.
than write down what u understand, so that it will stay
in memory for longer time with out seeing the notes.
even enstien who is the great scientist of the 20th century was not doing will in school but i learnt to under stand think
and did will in life and in the field of science.
hence not to loose hope.
try to understand the concepts first by using different sources.
work hard.
best of luck

Let's see, your about 14? Stop focusing on that cute guy, and what your friend is wearing, and what that little backstabber is saying about you. Really, when you start getting stressed is when you lose your ability to focus, so as soon as you start feeling that you can't do it, take a little break or switch subjects. Running is out and will only waste what you have learned so far.
