The cause...because...for example, if you tried to bake a cake according to a book but you thought would add a little something to it in the end after all, and lets say that little something made all the difference because the cake turned out to be amazing...well then as delicious and fun as the cake is to eat, the cause of it is whats important, because thats what made it into what it is.
And also for example, if you are in love with someone and they break your heart, you will of course break up and during the break up even though it makes no sense whatsoever you will miss him and even forget why you broke up, but as much as the effect hurts, the cause...the reason, hurts poignantly more, and that reason is whats important to remember.
However, very interestingly enough, no one really knows the meaning of life, the cause of it (apart from biologically of course) but the effect it, the fact that we are alive...is really the only important thing...which is not to say we shouldnt question the universe, i am completely for questioning the universe, but i just think that even if we dont find the answers in our lifetime, life should still be lived to the utmost fullest....if that makes any sense at all...
Thanks for the really interesting question, LoveOfMyLife. :)

Your old avatar showing up.
I don't know what caused it but the effect is that it made me happy enough to risk another violation to answer your question.
I always liked that avatar and it's smile. The smile is genuine.
I am sorry I had to disappear but the odds are that a person you know will use your questions to get to me. They think I did things I know I did not but I can't go into specifics because of the rules of this place.
I can asnwer you thus, regardless of the cause in the end the effect is what must be dealt with, whether that effect is me being terminated or just me having to give up a good friend. The case could be anything from a threat to an ultimatum to a simple temper tantrum but in the end all anyone ever sees is the effect, so; I caring for others I say the cause at first, because it is alarming and you are trying to treat the situation at hand, and later the effect because that leaves an impression that may hurt others as well.
It is all in the timing of things.
So the answer is, it is all in the timing of things as to which is more important to me and right now I considering the effect more important but that may be the cause of something new.
Here's to my favorite avatar of yours.

The cause is more important. Heres why, since it already happened, the effect can't be changed. The only way it can be changed is to treat what caused it, thus stopping it from happening again and causing the effect. For example, with the floods in New Orleans....yes the effects were DEVESTATING. However, if you don't treat the cause (bad dams, levees, drainage, etc) it will happen again and again.

The effect is most important in general. Except if I might be the cause of a problem like hurting someone unwittingly, it is important for me to know how, so I won't repeat the mistake.

The effect. There is nothing i can do about the cause, only what happens with the effect.

To me honey, one must think of the effect of any situations before doing them to prevent any causes though.
Cheers and have a nice week ahead :)

The cause and the effect coincide.
The cause generates the effect-and the effect
authenticates the cause.
So, neither are as important to me as the
reaction; or the ability to perservere over both.
Peace.

Everything has an opposite and equal reaction. Cause and effect are symbiotic. Effect doesn't exist without cause and every cause has an effect.
