Weight-bearing exercise forces the body to produce all sorts of good chemicals that offset immediate fatigue and pain and flushes the brain with oxygenated blood and endorphins. Research shows weight training increases I.Q. and alleviates bi-polar symptoms. And you get to yell and grunt and sweat and get all the crap out of your system and a good night's sleep afterwards. Or go the heavy bag with the gloves on. Use your body for what it's designed for and it'll thank you and you'll feel consistently better for it.
And music is a fantastic motivator for any new endeavor or lifting us up out of a deep funk, getting your heart pumping and your feet moving and reminding you of what it is that you wanted to be doing. Then go for it!
Feel free to drop me a line if you need a little motivation or just to blow off steam.
Good luck and all the best!

The only thing I can thing of is exercising and trying to keep busy, which I know is a lot harder to do when you're not motivated to do anything. Hopefully those around you can be there for you. Most want to help but don't know how since they haven't experienced it themselves.

Convincing yourself that things will get better, and patience.

A few days ago, I was very unhappy. Miserable, and embarrassed, even. However, I kept telling myself: "In an hour I'll feel better", so I waited it out.

It worked. I finally stabilized, and was back to thinking positive things.

Even now, I get the feeling of being in the doldrums. However, I keep reminding myself that "It will get better", because it will.
