was the "first" of all angels! Did that put him above Jesus, the son of God at that time, or had Jesus' angelic form not been created yet? And if Jesus was the "only" son of God, just who were the "Son's of God" in Genesis who found the "daughters of men to be good and took them as wives" ?? Please, no attacks by Christians, I am one myself! I just want to see if someone comes up with an answer as close to my cousin's, as he is a preacher.

Ok! I added this: Part of The Nicene Creed.
We believe in one God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible.

And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of the Father before all worlds, God of God, Light of Light, Very God of Very God, begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father by whom all things were made; who for us men, and for our salvation, came down from heaven, and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the Virgin Mary, and was made man, and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate. He suffered and was buried, and the third day he rose again according to the Scriptures, and ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of the Father. And he shall come again with glory to judge both the quick and the dead, whose kingdom shall have no end.
Begotten means: 1. (esp. of a male parent) to procreate or generate (offspring).

Lucifer was an angel as has been mentioned, but Jesus is God, so Lucifer was never above Jesus in any way.

The "Sons of God" in Genesis have been interpreted to mean many different things. Some say they were simply Believers in the one God. Other believe the Nephillim were actually the offspring of angels and human women. I have also heard it theorized that these were the sons of Lillith who some believe had been Adam's first wife.

I'm only taking a stab at this.

No, Lucifer would not have been above Jesus because Jesus and God are one in the same. John 1:1-4 says "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of men." -- The Word here is referring to Jesus. Jesus was with God/was God from the very beginning; before the angels were created. Jesus would have always been higher than any angels.

I think the "sons of God" in Genesis is talking about people who believed in God at the time. The daughters of men would have been those who didn't. That one's always been kind of baffling to me. One of those ones that I like to try to read more into. I have also heard interpretations of this part of Genesis that involve aliens, angels, other stuff. Not sure about that.

Anyway, I hope you post the correct answer that your cousin said, so I will know!

Lucifer was an Angel, these are entities or higher spiritual forms. In the Bible they become the messengers of God. For this purpose they take on an image which is identifiable by a human.

Lucifer's fall from grace came about because he was drawn to the pleasures of the material or physical world. This attachment meant his spiritual form digressed.
To negate this digression he had to go through the same transcendence that a mortal would have to go through to reach the higher echelons once more.
This is the essence of Lucifer Rising.
Because of his transgression Lucifer becomes demonised in the process. He is then confused with a Satan like image.

The Christ figure is directly of God, so in theory, can only exert God's will.

Lucifer was the highest of all angels until he and other angels turned against God, and then they were cast out of heaven...thus creating the devil and his demons

That is just my belief and interpretation of the Bible. As far as the other stuff, I don't know...haven't read it.

Where reason ends - belief begins.

Believe whatever superstition you prefer; don't walk under ladders; black cats; crossing oneself etc.

Hallowe'en approaches, a pre-Christian belief that the dead rise from their graves. Christmas - a midwinter celebration, more???
