I heard two people talking. Both african american. One said she likes men out of the black race but is not attracted to them romantically or sexually. Only on a friendship basis. The other person said that that is racist. What do you all think?

I do not feel it is racist in the least. She is attracted to men who are like her. but that does not make her racist. she stated that she had no problems with men of different races but is not romantically or sexually attracted to them.. All of us have preferences of what our ideal mates should be..some white women may find the features of black men sexy and hot while maybe a black woman might find Arabic men hot..but it does not mean racism in the least

I believe all who have answered so far, before me Really don't understand racist, completely! If the one black lady would of said it this way! I don't mine being friends with guys that aren't black! But I sure wouldn't get envolved with one romantically or sexually! Blacks should stay with blacks!

Then everyone so far would of all agreed it was racist! Love and romance has no color! Many friendships turn into romance and sexual, My wife is my bestfriend, lover and my love of my life! We were friends first, then lovers, then husband and wife! For that black woman to say she can only be friends with guys out of her race, it's racist not very well hidden on her part!

That's like me saying I can be friends with a million Chinese women, but I sure would never marry one or have sex with one! and for her to say she's not attracted to them romantically or sexually is because she's admtting her reserve for black men only for her romantic and sexual needs! Open your eyes people!

I think it is a generlization. Racism is over used. If someone would have said that about a white guy that same girl would have been all for it. When you generalize you tend to limit yourself.

Also, I have been in one area and people of a certain race act like fools. It would be easy to make a general assuption about that race. Yet, if you walk to another area not even blocks away you will see educated intelligent people of the same race.

Yes, that is racist. It is a sad fact that we look at people
for looks, is she HOT. Does he have a great body. Wealth, their hair sucks. Clothing, and on and on. It's not always our
fault either. We learn from relatives, peers. You even see it on
the tube or movies.
Until, we learn people are just people. And learn to be a
little more understanding. We will just keep on being narrow
minded. I'm as guilty as the next. But I am trying.
Do not give up.

It's not racist, it's just her preference. Some white women prefer black men, some black women prefer white men or they prefer someone of their own race. It's not about racism.

Racist. Definitely racist. Can't have two standards, if a white person said the same thing, they would be branded, so it's racist.

Racism, by strict definition, is a prejudice based solely on racial criteria. Does this fit the definition?
